September 13, 2014 Prostate Cancer Conference

Prostate organizations in Washington and Oregon work with the Vancouver Prostate Centre to form Pacific Northwest Prostate Cancer . . . SPORE.  They have been running an annual conference for the past 14 years, and this year they will again be having a podcast site in Vancouver.  For a token fee of $10, on Saturday, September 13, from 8:30 to 4:00 any support group member can join in at The Gordon and Leslie Diamond Family Theatre at the BC Cancer Research Centre, 675 West 10th Avenue, Vancouver.  AND the $10 includes LUNCH.  You just can’t beat that.

And what if you aren’t located in the Lower Mainland of the province and this is just too out of reach for your guys?  The last year’s conference is on the website and you can access the talks from 2013 by clicking here.  The 2014 talks will get to the website as well.  There is a poster from the Prostate Cancer Foundation BC from their website:   www.prostatecancerbc.ca/events

Prostate Conference Description

The conference will provide a state-of-the-art update on prevention and early detection of prostate cancer, treatment of localized prostate cancer, medical management of advanced prostate cancer, and current status of knowledge about the role of nutrition in prostate cancer.  Highlights of recent scientific progress and a survey of current clinical trials likely to change the standard care in the coming years will be prominently featured.

In addition, attendees will learn about coping with the diagnosis of prostate cancer. Sexuality in prostate cancer survivors will also be addressed.

This program will include ample opportunities for audience participation.
