Prostate Cancer Canada – the national foundation for prostate cancer information, resources and support – is encouraging all Canadians to mark their calendars for September 1, the launch of Prostate Cancer Awareness Month in Canada. Featuring multiple initiatives and events across the country, Prostate Cancer Canada will champion this time to engage and inform Canadians about the importance of prevention, education and early detection of prostate cancer.
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer to affect Canadian men. 1 in 8 men will be diagnosed with the disease in their lifetime. The good news is that the survival rate for prostate cancer can be over 90% when detected early. That’s why, during the month of September, we raise awareness for this disease.
