MOVEMBER 2013 「小鬍子的十一月」

從二零零三年開始，November十一月多了一個新的串法-Movember，M代表Moustache，也就是鬍子。Movember這字似乎仍未有中文翻譯，楊國輝醫生把它翻譯作「小鬍子的十一月」。「小鬍子的十一月」起源自澳洲，一群關注男性健康的活動策劃者，想到用蓄小鬍子的方法，提醒公眾關注預防前列腺癌，亦同時為這病的防治研究籌款，這些年來，這活動成功登陸美州、歐洲、亞洲和非洲。

	With Movember 2013 underway, we wanted to take a moment to acknowledge you, the Movember community, which has helped us grow to where we are today. Throughout the years, millions of you have generously donated your funds, upper lips and time to change the face of men's health. We know that with great moustaches comes great responsibility and we take that very seriously. We push for collaboration, not just at a national level but also at a global level. We insist on transparency and accountability for every funded project. We are about accelerating outcomes for men that will change and save lives now.   In line with our vision, Movember is proud to have funded 577 programs with our 20 men's health partners in 21 countries. Globally, we focus on the areas of awareness and education, living with and beyond cancer, men's mental health, and prostate and testicular cancer research. Thanks to your efforts we're privileged to work with some of the best scientific minds and world-class organizations that strive to help us make a global impact on men's health.   Watch and learn more about some of the amazing outcomes happening around the world.
